“BANH MI SE CHIA 30” – SUPPORTING MS. LE THI NHU HANG

Summer is coming, the children are comfortable and roaming on this long holiday with their siblings, parents, grandparents. Parents have also been busy finding out places to play and travel for the whole family; for the excitement of their children.

Travel and entertainment occassions, whether far or near, for most of us are just a few touches in the picture called “life”. Summer is like that, family reunions and relaxation, which seems simple to us but painful, the wildest dream of some individuals, and Ms. Le Thi Nhu Hang is one of those fates.

Born in 1969, living at B1/1 Truong Cuu Hamlet, Truong Hoa Commune, Hoa Thanh District, Tay Ninh Province. She was born in a poor working family like other households in Truong Hoa commune in the past. Growing up with 4 sisters and parents, poverty threatened daily family meals, but the darkness of that poverty could not cover the glimmering aura called “reunion”. Yes, they are poor but still happy, because they are together – sharing sips of porridge, stalks of vegetables, boiled noodles because they are family.

Life does not operate according to a process that we want, even the world’s billionaires also have in their hands countless assets, the economic lifeblood of many companies or multinationals, but they are not be able to accurately grasp their own destiny. Hang’s family was the same, her father soon passed away, a few years later the youngest brother died, not long after that, the next brother died. And now, the third sister, who sometimes helps her share the burden of making a living and take cares of her elderly mother who is sick all day long due to old age and also cannot escape the pain of losing her husband and children, has discovered a terrible disease – breast cancer. Currently, that third sister has just undergone a tumor removal and is in a tormented period because of radiation treatments. As for the eldest sister, married, and the situation couldn’t be poorer.

Because of poverty, obsession with poverty, shock at the passing of loved ones, guilt because of her appearance and fate,… Her educational path had to end early in primary school. Not strong enough like some people, sick constantly, she became more and more self-deprecating and withdrew into her shell and she did not get married. She shared with Hung Duy representative: “I have to take care of my mother, now I also help raising a 10-year-old grandchild.”

At this moment, her desire is a family reunion meal, a stable income to take care of her elderly mother – grandchildren and herself. Moreover, the dream of having a new bread cart instead of a new car which has been an earning her living’s for the past 13 years, but now it has deteriorated even cannot be repaired anymore.

Understanding and sharing with her unfortunate situation, on the morning of May 24, 2019, Hung Duy Company, Tay Ninh Women’s Union, Hoa Thanh District Women’s Union and representatives of Truong Hoa Commune Women’s Union visited Ms. Hang’s family and conducted the ceremony “Giving capital to support poor women starting a business”. At the ceremony, Hung Duy Company presented a gift worth 8,500,000 to Ms. Hang (including 1 bread cart, cash to buy materials, tools and a gift to encourage her).

During the ceremony, she choked and shared: “I’m so happy, the new cart make me have more motivation. The car is nice and sturdy, I can’t imagine it! Now, naturally, the disease is completely healed. Honestly thank you – Hung Duy Company, the Women’s Union. From now on, I will try harder.”

Sharing happiness with Ms. Hang, through practical and meaningful gifts, Hung Duy Company as well as Tay Ninh Women’s Union, Hoa Thanh District Women’s Union and Truong Hoa Commune Women’s Union – we really hope that, with these “shares” from these sincere hearts; can give strength and spiritual strength to Ms. Hang and her family to soon overcome the difficult period.
