YOUNG ENTERPRENUER LE MINH TRUC: DEDICATION PASSION

When one is young, one is very different. People are confident, aggressive, strong. People aspire to win and frankly accept defeat. And moreover, when people are young, people are passionate about dedication, like Le Minh Truc- General Director of Hung Duy Co., Ltd (Hoa Thanh).

Frankly, when I asked: “Currently Hung Duy is a distributor of many companies with strong brands in Vietnam and the world. In 2012, he paid 28 billion VND to the State Budget, so now this company where is standing on the enterprise map of the province and the whole country”. Businesswoman Le Minh Truc confidently says: Although she has received many awards, Hung Duy has not participated in a national or international voted – However, it can be affirmed: in Tay Ninh Hung Duy is a leading enterprise. And our story begins…

What do you think about enterprises in your province?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc:  Having great potential, ambition but lack of connection, everyone can do it. It seems that this is not a problem of Tay Ninh alone but of the whole country! I do business with Chinese people, Vietnamese people of Chinese origin, find them to have a very strong connection. In business, in life they wrap each other into a very strong chain, so their association is very strong. They also often associate their “price pressure” with which they can’t do anything, such as with their agricultural products today.

– Does it mean that the connection of your enterprise is weak?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc:  Yes. Actually, this is also cultural. Vietnamese people, I am used to thinking about small enterprise, self-sufficiency, not used to long-term strategies, so of course, I am not familiar with the connection. This is the weakness of small and medium enterprises, which needs to be changed. In fact, the potential of enterprises in their province is not small, if each enterprise has a longer vision, thinks of bigger benefits, knows to ignore the small things in front of them, it will certainly be much stronger.

– To link enterprises, the role of the State is very important, so how do you evaluate the support of the State for enterprises? And what do you think about the business environment of the province?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc:  Admittedly, provincial leaders are very interested in enterprises, such as the policy of creating favorable conditions in transporting agricultural products in border districts bordering Cambodia, and the policy of increasing the capacity of factories. qualified noodles… Besides, administrative reform is being promoted, but in my opinion it needs to be stronger to attract investment. On the other hand, the business environment is still unhealthy and not transparent. This is a great injustice to enterprises that want to do business honestly.

But in order to promote administrative reform as well as improve the business environment, each enterprise must also have a responsibility?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc:  That’s right! That is also one of the reasons why I joined the Provincial People’s Council and assumed the position of Vice President of the Young Business Association of the province. I wish to convey the thoughts and aspirations of the people in general and enterprises in particular to the Party and State and vice versa, so that enterprises and the State can find a common voice, thereby bringing the maximum benefit to society.

Is this reponsibility not easily?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc:  Of course, but if you’re afraid of difficulties, you won’t be able to do anything. If you want to start a business, don’t be afraid of difficulties. “Wanting” is not enough, but also “dare” – dare to do, dare to endure.

Is it true that for enterprenuer Le Minh Truc, the word “dare” is written quite easily because Hung Duy’s enterprise is run by her own mother – Mr. Le Huu Hung, who is currently the Chairman of the Board of Members of the company create?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc:  I know I’m lucky because I have a family as a solid fulcrum, a better start than others, but if I only rely on my family, how can I succeed? When I graduated from university myself, I had to “three sink seven floats” to participate in management like today! When I graduated from school, I was only 21 years old, full of confidence, so I borrowed “a bunch of money” with a friend and went straight to Ca Mau to raise shrimp. Only one year later, my luggage back to my hometown was… a debt of 72 million VND. I was so embarrassed that I hid it from my parents to quietly find a way to repay the debt. At the age of 23, he continued… “risking his life”, borrowing money to invest in cows. This time… loss more than 1 billion! And yet, in 2000, I was called by my father to be in charge of accounting for the company, because I was inexperienced, so I was fined more than 300 million dong. Once again, I have learned to attach importance to the role of accountants. Since then, I have carried out reforms to professionalize the accounting department. Like that, there are many failures, but each failure is a lesson for me. At 34 years old, I understood the meaning of the saying “failure is the mother of success”!

Looking at Hung Duy’s “resumé”, see that “learning” always has an important position?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc:  Yes! The whole company has more than 400 people but the university degree is only counted on the fingers, mainly based on experience. But Hung Duy is well aware that knowledge plays an extremely important role, so every year the company organizes for managers to attend school to add more knowledge and skills at PACE Business School (a member of the Board of Directors). member of PACE Education). The company also creates conditions for leaders and directors of departments to visit more than 20 countries to broaden their horizons, learn more experiences, and bring good things to serve businesses and associated communities. with training schools from outside, combined with foreign teachers to improve foreign language capital for the leadership team to keep up with the development momentum of the society. Learning is one of the cultural features of Hung Duy Company.

You just talked about company culture, so what are the core values of Hung Duy?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc:  That’s honest. Honesty creates quality, creates prestige and that is the longevity of the company.

But it is said that “honesty often loses”, does it contradict the motto of “maximizing profits” in business?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc:  If it is understood that maximizing profit is to be by all means, it is a mistake, Hung Duy Company does not accept that and cannot do it. Therefore, there are products distributed by Hung Duy whose prices may be a little higher than elsewhere, but we always guarantee the quality. We do not want to sell goods but reduce even “a little” quality, or shake hands with contractors and agents to damage the interests of customers. Although there are times when the company is not profitable, such as today, honesty is always the core value that Hung Duy pursues.

You said Hung Duy is not profitable, but this year the company’s charity activities are still very strong?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc:  Hung Duy always takes responsibility to the community as an action goal. Every year the company spends 1 to more than 1.4 billion VND to carry out social and charity activities. Like many other businesses, we were also affected by the economic crisis that made it difficult to do business, but it was all in the calculation. As for charity, it’s a responsibility “out of the crisis” (laughs), which has nothing to do with the company’s difficulties. As long as Hung Duy is still alive, charity activities are still a social responsibility and also a corporate culture.

Hung Duy was established in 1994 with an investment of less than 350 million VND, mainly dealing in construction iron and steel products and producing small and small handmade tapioca starch, but up to now, the charter capital has been more than 232 billion VND. What strategy does the company have for its development in the coming years?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc: Currently, we are building an ISO 9001 management process, in production, applying a wastewater treatment system by Biogas method, taking advantage of waste gas as gas for production. In the next 3 years, besides the production and trade system, Hung Duy will focus on developing the service system, and at the same time, will join the stock exchange and develop into a joint stock company. In 2012, Hung Duy’s revenue was VND 1,320 billion. In the next three years, revenue will be 2,000 billion VND, capital will increase in the next 3 years to 1,500 billion VND/year.

You seem very business “blood”?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc:  (laughs) God! How can you do business without blood? People say business is to make money, to get rich, of course, but for me it’s not just that but more – because of the passion for work, the passion for creativity, the passion for dedication, the passion for seeing myself. useful person. I’m still young!

A classic question: Does an active, decisive, strong and intelligent woman like you have any difficulty in being a wife and mother in the family?

Enterprenuer Le Minh Truc: As I said, I am fortunate to have parents on both sides who always support me, especially my husband who is very sympathetic and knows how to share with his wife. And I always tell myself, I have to know how to keep that luck, which hours for the company, which are for parents, for husband and children are clearly distinguished. Actually, I think very simply, with my company, I can make a 5-year, 10-year strategy, if I fail, I won’t regret it, but as for my family – I’m still happy today, I have to make the most of it. Enjoy and cherish that happiness today, but if you lose it, you will regret it tomorrow…

Unfortunately, our conversation had to end because at 11 am, General Director Le Minh Truc had to have lunch with her family, then she had to go to Ho Chi Minh City to attend a career course. service. So we had to say goodbye. Passing the horse symbol in front of Hung Duy Company’s door, looking at the horse’s figure as if it wanted to fly straight forward in a brave and proud posture, I understood more clearly why this business owner took it as a symbol.
